Kizito Boys Movement in Klerksdorp

Greetings friends. Our 4th Uganda Martyrs Day Celebrations are underway.

It will take place on 15th June, 2019 at the The Catholic Diocese in Johannesburg The main Celebrant is Bishop Victor Phalana.

The Bishop has honored us by bringing a number of 100 people to celebrate with us. These are Kizito Boys, all the way from Klerksdorp.

Let me tell you more about our Kizito boys.

St. Kizito movement for the boys was established in 2017 in klerksdorp Catholic Diocese.

It began from St. Paul's Catholic Parish under the guidance of Fr. Joseph Kyeyune together with Mr. Lerato Shumba.

The movement so far is only for the boys residing in the diocese, from the ages ranging from 4 to 18 yrs.

The group gets its spirituality growth from St. Kizito one of the youngest matyrs of Uganda who is a patron of children.

The main aim of the movement is to nourish the Spiritual and Social development of the Catholic as they grow into mature manhood.

The main core values are, 1. Respect 2. Discipline 3.Brotherhood.

Objectives of the movement are. 1. To follow in the foot steps of their patron saint Kizito to love and serve the Lord.

2. To prepare boys for youth ministry.

3. To identity and prepare boys for their calling to priesthood and other vocations of their choice as well as entry into other Catholic solidarities.

In all, the boys grow and interact freely, involve themselves in both social and spiritual activities. Faith and morals are always a priority among the boys.

Parents and the adult support body coordinate arrangements of different activities of the boys through out the year.

Kizito Boys have a spiritual director appointed by the Bishop.

I, with other members of Uganda Christian Community in South Africa met Kizito Boys in Klerkdorp last year.

These boys save their pocket money and use it for their Kizito Boys savings to buy whatever their Movement need.
