BOYS DIED FOR ‘LOVE POTION’!

A PROMISE of a strong love potion is allegedly behind the horror death of two 10-year-old boys.

The decomposing body of Njabulo Mankayi (10) from Clairwood, south of Durban, was discovered yesterday. Now fingers are being pointed at a former girlfriend of the boy’s father.

According to Daily Sun sources, the woman had been promised that the boy’s blood would make a strong love potion to get her lost lover back. Njabulo’s body was found floating in a canal in Bayhead. A source at the scene told Daily Sun that it looked as if he had been fed poison before being strangled.

His friend, Luyanda Msomi (10), who had disappeared with him last Thursday, was found on Saturday strangled and dumped in the bush near the railway line in Clairwood.

The source said the suspected woman had apparently consulted a traditional healer, who wanted the blood of the boyfriend’s relative so that he could mix a love potion for her.

“Njabulo was apparently the main target and his friend was killed to get rid of evidence.”

But the woman’s plan went all wrong. She was arrested on Friday. Cops said she was helped by a friend, who was also arrested. KZN police spokeswoman Colonel Thembeka Mbhele said the woman and her accomplice pointed out the places where they had allegedly dumped the corpses on Saturday. “Luyanda’s body was found on Saturday, but Njabulo’s corpse was found yesterday,” she said.

Mbhele said two cases of murder and kidnapping had been opened. “One of the suspects appeared in court yesterday.” National Prosecuting Authority spokeswoman Natasha Kara said the matter was postponed to 20 November.

“The second suspect will appear today,” Mbhele said. “Post mortems will establish the cause of their deaths. The motive is not yet known.” When called by Daily Sun, the phone of Njabulo’s father, Mthandazi Mankayi, was on voicemail.
